A Real Review or My Birthday Present to Baby Jesus!

I rarely do reviews of anything, but felt compelled to do this one.
I listen to a vast variety of music and musical styles. Anything from Debussy to Charles Mingus, Zappa to Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jew Boys, Bob Wills to Hayseed Dixie, Skinny Puppy to Revolting Cocks, Venetian Snares to Boxcutter! I listen to and like most musical styles except corporate radio played slop, AKA top 40.
I have run across a band recently that is rocking my world! I even hear them when I'm trying to go to sleep! When I don't really want to listen to anything, I turn them on. When I think I've listened to them enough, I listen to them more! Maybe I'm nuts, wait a minute, that's already established.

If you haven't heard these dudes, do yourself a favor and check them out!! If all you like listening to is Britney Spears or Rascal Flatts or Winger or Muzak, you can stop reading and head right back to whatever brain dead experience you're involved in...
The best way I can describe these guys is they are definitely electronic, BPM driven music, with a twist. They seem to incorporate many styles into their sound. Changing time signatures, massive vocal experiments, psychedelic Goa-like soundscapes and of course one of the things that awaken the inbred, Jefferson County, feathered hair, stadium rock sound lovin', rock god image I grew up around and have a nostalgic sweet spot for(I hate to admit that!), they incorporate in many of their rockin'est tracks, a live heavy metal guitarist and a decent one at that! Which is nothing new in and of itself, but they do so masterfully!

They have been around for some time and hail from Israel, hence the Baby Jesus reference in my title. Jesus would be proud of his local brethren! These guys are some seriously rocking Red Sea Pedestrians!! The most recent album of theirs is called Legend of the Black Shawarma, which is a reference to a Middle Eastern sandwich, sort of like a Gyro. The first time I listened to it I got the distinct feeling it was a concept album. Think The Wall or something along those lines. After research, I found out it was indeed supposed to be. The concept being members of the bands favorite places to eat or types of foods. They also have some guest vocalists, Perry Ferrell AKA Janes Addiction and others. Tracks like Saeed and Project 100 are great! The song End of the Road is a pleasure palace in changing time signatures and audio-gazmotronics!

It would seem over the years in addition to the many musical experiments they've tried, they did an entire Doors tribute album! Can't say it's my favorite but still interesting. One of my other favorite albums of theirs is Vicious Delicious. Two outstanding tunes on that one are Becoming Insane, a nod to Latin flamenco style and the bad ass metal driven Heavyweight!!!! The album Classical Mushroom is excellent too! The track Dracul is a good one
I don't know what you all are into out there in world wide websville but give 'em a try! I don't think you'll be sorry at least one time listening to Angry Brady's advice!

That's all I've got today kids... ENJOY!
