Examples As To How Well We Know Each Other

I don't pay attention to much news anymore. It really isn't even information that is useful to most of us anymore. The vast majority is fluff or "info-tainment". The actual news we get seems to mostly piss me off or bum me out! So, I take it in small, ever wary doses. Kinda like that hit of green windowpane acid I got 20 years ago that rocked my world but then made me seriously consider the wisdom in attempting such an exercise again!

When I do read the news, my suspicions are most always well founded. For example this morning. I read about some 20 year old girl shot and killed by a cop. That is the news part I guess. The part that seems to me more important and should be analyzed further are all of the comments made by "friends and family" of the deceased. The quotes by these people point out some very interesting things as to how we are as a society and what we not only show the outside world, but how well we think we know others. What do we really think friendship is? Are we all really just casual acquaintances?!

The over arching theme of the quotes by this girls friends and family were how they couldn't believe she would have a gun and how she wasn't capable of such a thing, etc. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE HEARD THIS SORT OF SHIT ON NEWS STORIES?!

Are we so deluded as a civilization to think that EVERY human being doesn't have the potential for the very best AND the very worst thoughts and actions lurking in us all?! Why is this such a shock?! Didn't anybody ever take a psychology class or a sociology class?! Sounds to me like some Viktor Frankl is in order!
Listen, when put in the right/wrong set of circumstances, EVERYONE is capable of great and horrible things! Why is it so many assholes act or think as if it shocking or unfathomable?!
