I know most of you think this is a nonstarter. Most of you would be, well, idiots then!! This issue is about as big as they come. How about a little history?
It would seem that back in the late Sixties on the coasts of America, there were idea's of having television pumped into peoples homes via a little 'cable'. The idea was that if people could be convinced that they would pay a nominal fee, they could have television programming including movies shown without having to sit through commercials all day. THAT WAS THE IDEA... How many of you now have cable or Satellite or Cable and pay out the wazzoo, only to have as many commercials as regular over the air programming??? YOU ARE PAYING SOME LARGE CORPORATION TO ADVERTISE TO YOU!!! Doesn't that at least make you think even for a moment of your sanity??? If not, you disgust me and make me sad. Need another one???
How many of you have satellite radio? How many of you remember hearing that it too would be 'Mostly Commercial Free". Anyone notice if some of your favorite channels are sneaking some in, or the ones that have had commercials are extending the length of commercial breaks in between what you are 'Paying' for???
The point is this, the idea's being floated around for what's to become of the internet, which from it's inception was to remain free and unbridled, is quickly becoming a thing of the past! The scariest part is that now that those dip-shits in the Supreme Court have ruled that Corporations have right to contribute any amount they want to political spending, which in essence means they carry more influence than you or I in elections, proposed legislation, and many other things too numerous to print here! The other problem being is let's say a major provider of Oxygen you breathe ( I'm being hypothetical here ), has contributed large sums of money to the search engine of your choice. You want to find out where to get or make Oxygen so you won't die or suffer brain damage, but because XYZ Oxygen Corp. has contributed so much to said search engine, the only references you find lead you right back to... XYZ Oxygen Corp................ Need I say more??? Do something useful. AT least research this shit.
